Geographic Information System Tools for Smarter Energy Planning - ACEF 2020 Official Side Event

As an official side event of the 2020 Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF), join Stimson Center, World Resources Institute (WRI), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Global Energy Monitor to learn about the benefits of geographic information system (GIS) tools, on June 18, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. EST/ 8:00 p.m. PST.

The first virtual Asia Clean Energy Forum will be held on June 15 – 19, 2020. As one of Asia’s leading clean energy events, ACEF connects diverse stakeholders from across Asia and the globe, facilitates knowledge sharing, and highlights the Asian Development Bank's groundbreaking work to scale up clean energy investment in the region.

This side-event webinar will discuss how sustainable energy transitions require considerations of how energy intersects and interacts with other sectors. The webinar will include introductions and overviews of existing, open-source spatial tools, how GIS-based tools (i.e., RE Data Explorer) can provide context on risks, impacts, and multi-sector considerations, and how multi-sector considerations can support national energy planning processes, investment decisions, and project design. This event is free and open to anyone interested in joining.
